SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has traded midfielder Darwin Ceren to the Houston Dynamo in exchange for $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) and $75,000 in Targeted Allocation Money. San Jose can also receive an additional $50,000 in GAM in 2019 based on his performance next season.
“We want to thank Darwin for his contributions to the club over the last year and a half,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “We wish him and his family nothing but the best in Houston.”
Ceren, 28, made 28 starts in 33 total appearances for San Jose since being acquired in a midseason trade with Orlando City SC in 2016. He tallied two assists in 21 appearances for the club in 2017.
