NEWS: Earthquakes to Celebrate Local San Jose Art with August Events, Presented by Lagunitas

Arts and Crafts - Quakes

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the Quakes Foundation will host two Arts & Crafts fundraising events in August, presented by Lagunitas, to celebrate the vibrant arts culture in San Jose. Both events will have Lagunitas craft beers to sample and all proceeds will go to the Quakes Foundation as they work to impact the underserved youth in the community.

Friday, Aug. 3 – We Are San Jose: Art Exhibit

Earlier this year, amateur photographers in San Jose were given the opportunity to capture the Quakes match against LAFC on June 9 as part of their first-ever Amateur Photography Night. The Quakes selected a few of their favorite shots from the evening and will have them on display in the Sky Lounge during the art exhibit. Images from the We Are San Jose photo campaign, which features Quakes players at iconic locations in San Jose, and the halftime painting from the 2018 California Clasico at Stanford Stadium will also be a part of the exhibit. Each print will be paired with game-worn, autographed gear from the 2018 season and will be auctioned off throughout the event.

The following local artists’ photographs will be on display: Esteban Barajas, Nate Bonsell, Victoria Elizondo, Fidencio Enriquez, Kim Steed and Brandon Vallance.

Monday, Aug. 27 – Paint Night

The Quakes Foundation will host a Paint Night at Avaya Stadium on Monday, Aug. 27. Teaming up with the Exhibition District, a collaborative that works to keep artists engaged, employed and active in San Jose, participants will paint their own soccer-inspired canvas led by Local Color Artist Laura Amador. Painters will be served complimentary Lagunitas craft beer during the event. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased here.
