Earthquakes Weekly Update: September 3, 2018
This week, the San Jose Earthquakes have a bye and will return to MLS action when they take on Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7:15 p.m. PT at Avaya Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.
Avaya Stadium will host the United States Women’s National Team friendly against Chile on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Univision Deportes. Tickets for this match can be purchased here.
This Thursday, Sept. 6, Avaya Stadium will host a men’s college soccer match between the University of California, Berkeley and Sacramento State University at 7 p.m. The match will feature free parking and admission.
Last Wednesday, the Earthquakes defeated Western Conference leaders FC Dallas 4-3 at Avaya Stadium. The victory marked the second time this season that the Quakes have defeated the Texas side. Designated Player Vako scored a pair of goals, with midfielder Magnus Eriksson and forward Chris Wondolowski each adding another for the Quakes.
This past Saturday, the Earthquakes suffered a 2-1 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place. In the 91st minute of the match, Vako scored his ninth goal of the season.
