SAN JOSE, Calif. –
Dave Kaval, President of Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes, has confirmed his attendance for the Soccerex Global Convention 2015, 7 – 9 September, Manchester, UK, where he will be sharing the secrets behind the club’s brand new Avaya Stadium, one of the most innovative and technologically advanced stadia in the world.
Shortlisted for Venue of the Year at TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2015, alongside such stadia as the Sydney Cricket Ground, Wembley Stadium, the Maracanã and FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou, Avaya Stadium is the first cloud-enabled professional sports venue.
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose have arguably the most technologically demanding fans in the world and Kaval will be unveiling how the Earthquakes use the stadium’s robust technical infrastructure, powered by sustainable solar energy harnessed via panels on the stadium’s roof, to meet the needs of their fans through creative, innovative mobile applications.
“Through our partnerships with Avaya and PetersenDean, we have created an infrastructure at Avaya Stadium which we are immensely proud of,” commented Kaval.
“It provides us with the platform to really experiment and explore new ways of connecting our fans, sponsors and other stakeholders and delivering a truly interactive match-day experience for them.”
Soccerex CEO, Duncan Revie added “It is a real coup to have Dave on board for the Global Convention. The Earthquakes are leading the way with their fantastic new Avaya Stadium and his participation is further proof of the cutting edge business insight this year’s event will offer.”
Kaval joins MLS Commissioner Don Garber at the Convention as part of a strong U.S. presence. He will be sharing the stage with a senior representative from Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications company, in a panel looking at venue technology and the future of fan experience.
Fan experience, both on the match day and beyond, is one of the core themes of this year’s Soccerex Global Convention with the programme featuring content dedicated to the subject, with the likes of Facebook, Twitter, SoLive, Getty Images and Mobile Media Content all confirmed to speak.
