More than 40,000 Fans Attend World Cup Viewing Parties at Avaya Stadium
The San Jose Earthquakes showed every single 2018 FIFA World Cup match on the videoboard at Avaya Stadium, welcoming more than 40,000 soccer fans in the Bay Area to their home throughout the tournament. The World Cup concluded on Sunday, July 14, and 7,000 fans came to Avaya Stadium to watch France defeat Croatia 4-2.

San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski is among 20 players selected to represent Major League Soccer in the 2018 MLS Homegrown Game, presented by Energizer®. Marcinkowski, 21, signed a Homegrown Player contract with San Jose ahead of the 2018 season, following a standout amateur career in the Quakes Academy and Georgetown University. Andres Deza named Western Conference Development Academy Coach of the Year
Quakes Girls' academy director Andres Deza has been named Western Conference Development Academy Coach of the Year after leading the U-16/U-17's to the Development Academy's inaugural Girls' U-16/17 Academy Championships semifinal. In their inaugural season, The U-16/U-17's finished the 2017-2018 Development Academy Regular Season first in the Western Conference with 73 points and an 24-6-1 record. Read the full story here.
