QUAKES NOTES: Anibal Godoy, Harold Cummings are back from the World Cup!

Harold Cummings - 2018

New Kid on the Block

Earthquakes defender Nick Lima made his professional debut against the Montreal Impact in 2017 and helped shut down the Impact’s star player Ignacio Piatti, who was unable to tally a single shot on goal or create a chance. Lima recently signed a multi-year contract with the Quakes on June 26.

Coming Home

Quakes players Anibal Godoy and Harold Cummings returned to team’s starting XI in last Saturday’s match against the Portland Timbers, each playing the full 90 minutes. Both participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the Panama National Team.

Scoring Options

In the Quakes’ last MLS match, midfielder Florian Jungwith scored his third goal of the season and is now one of five Quakes players to tally at least three goals and three assists in 2018, joining Hoesen, Wondolowski, Vako and Eriksson.

Constant Threat

Quakes forward Danny Hoesen has scored 10 non-penalty kick goals this season, ranking tied for third in all of Major League Soccer (Josef Martinez - 13; Bradley Wright-Phillips - 11; Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 10).

American Goal-Scorer

Earthquakes captain Chris Wondolowski, a native of Danville, CA, is the only American-born player in MLS with more than six goals and three assists so far in 2018. Columbus Crew SC forward Gyasi Zardes of Hawthorne, CA is the only other American with six or more goals (11).
