The Earthquakes currently have six players representing their respective nations in meaningful competition. Each of the six players – Chris Wondolowski (U.S.), David Bingham (U.S.), Fatai Alashe (U.S. U-23), Simon Dawkins (Jamaica), Anibal Godoy (Panama) and Alberto Quintero (Panama) – had one match on Friday and will have another on Tuesday.
Alashe played 24 minutes in the U.S. U-23s’ 1-1 draw on the road to Colombia. The result was a decent one for the Americans, as they now head into Tuesday’s contest with an away goal. A win or scoreless draw puts the U.S. through to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Neither Wondolowski or Bingham saw playing time on Friday in the United States’ 2-0 loss to Guatemala. The United States will need a better result against Guatemala on Tuesday, as they have now slipped to third place in Group C, with only two teams advancing to Round Five. Another game to keep an eye on for Tuesday is Trinidad and Tobago vs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines, as T&T has surged to the top of the group. A draw or win by St. Vincent could prove important down the road for the U.S.

Dawkins helped Jamaica earn a point against the top team in Group B, Costa Rica, playing 29 minutes in a 1-1 draw. Jamaica will now hit the road to take on Costa Rica again on Tuesday with three points on their mind.

Godoy and Quintero were the busiest of the Quakes playing internationally on Friday. Godoy played all 90 minutes and Quintero started and played 71 minutes in a scoreless draw on the road against Haiti. Panama and Dawkins’ Jamaica could be fighting for the final spot to advance out of Group B should Costa Rica continue to hold the top spot. Three points against underdog Haiti at home on Tuesday will be crucial for Panama’s hopes of progressing.
