The stabilizing force in the center of the Quakes midfield, Anibal Godoy provided a spark for San Jose during the final third of the year. Although he was relatively unknown at the time of his signing, Godoy quickly became a fan favorite around the Bay Area.

Thrown into the Fire: Godoy arrived at the Quakes facility on Aug. 14, the same day as an important Western Conference matchup with Colorado. He stepped right into the starting XI without any practice time with his teammates and helped deliver a much-needed 1-0 win.

Shutout Streak: The Quakes had a six-game winless streak (0-5-1) prior to Godoy’s signing. However, Godoy’s arrival sparked San Jose, who went on to earn shutout victories in each of his first four appearances. In total, the club’s shutout streak spanned 448 minutes, longest in MLS this season.

Hard to Break Down: In total, Godoy made 10 starts for San Jose during the 2015 season, leading the club to an astonishing 6-1-3 record in those games, and an undefeated 4-0-3 record at Avaya Stadium.

International: In addition to his matches with the Quakes, Godoy also made several trips internationally to represent his native Panama. His strong international play was a major reason why San Jose targeted him as a midseason signing, as general manager John Doyle witnessed his performances at each of the last three CONCACAF Gold Cups.
