ACADEMY UPDATE: Frias, Evans and McCormack earn first place with the Girls U-15 CONCACAF Championship

Last week, Earthquakes Academy players America Frias, Elise Evans and Yuna McCormack competed in the U-15 CONCACAF Championship with the United States U-15 Girls’ National Team. The U.S. earned a first-place finish in the tournament after defeating Mexico 3-0 in the finals. Frias tallied three goals in four appearances and two starts for the U-15s. McCormack started three matches for the U.S. and featured in all five. Evans finished the tournament with one goal, five appearances and three starts.


Academy players Sophie Jones and Mia Fontana have been called up to the U.S. U-17 WNT for a pair of matches against South Korea on Aug. 18 and Aug. 21. The U.S. will take on the South Korean hosts in preparation for the 2018 U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Uruguay in November.
