Drafted in the second round by the Earthquakes in 2001, Robinson became an integral part of the greatest 5-year run in team history from 2001-05. After playing sparingly in 2001, Robinson integrated himself into the squad in 2002 and then was a starter for the 2003 MLS Cup Champions, forming a strong paring with both Jeff Agoos and Troy Dayak. His best year came in 2005, as he paired with Danny Califf in central defense to lead the Quakes to the Supporters’ Shield and the fewest goals allowed in MLS.
