No goalkeeper in Quakes history had a three-year run like Onstad from 2003-05. He earned two MLS Goalkeeper of the Year awards, two MLS Best XI honors, won an MLS Cup and a Supporters’ Shield, while posting a 1.08 GAA and a 75.4 save percentage, both tops in club history. He earned 27 clean sheets in his Quakes tenure, including 12 in 2005 to set the club record for a single season. His save of Ante Razov’s penalty kick in the 2003 MLS Cup final with San Jose hanging on to a one-goal lead will go down as one of the most clutch plays in team history.
