This native of Grkinja, Yugoslavia arrived in San Jose toward the end of his career, but was one of the most talented players ever to don an Earthquakes jersey. In just three years, he helped the Quakes two playoff berths, including a first-place finish in their division in 1976. Mitic scored two goals in a 2-0 win over Dallas in the 1976 playoffs and netted another in their loss in the second round. For his NASL career, he finished sixth all-time in goals with 101 and was the first player in league history to hit the century mark.
