This dynamic left-footer was one of the club’s top players during the Clash era in the late 1990’s. Originally drafted from UCLA, Lewis made an immediate impact in San Jose to help the Clash earn a playoff berth in 1996. Over his four years, he would notch 35 assists, a total that places him sixth overall in MLS team history in assists. His best season came in 1999 when he scored a career high four goals and equaled his club record with 14 assists, a mark that still stands today. He was named an MLS All-Star and MLS Best XI that year.
