Few three-year stints with the Quakes have been as impactful as Lagos’ 2001-03 stretch in Northern California. The Minnesota native had a knack for scoring big goals and setting up his teammates as the wide midfielder helped the team capture two MLS Cups. He also earned an All-Star selection in 2001 when the Quakes hosted the MLS All-Star Game at Spartan Stadium. His strong play in San Jose also earned him a U.S. National Team call-up in 2003. On July 14, 2001 against the Tampa Bay Mutiny, he scored one of his most memorable goals, heading home a scoop pass from Landon Donovan in the final minute for the win.
