The Canadian international arrived in San Jose in his early 20’s and made an immediate impact, scoring the game-winning goal in his first match, a 3-2 victory at the LA Galaxy in 2001. He capped his first season in San Jose with the game-winning goal in the team’s 2-1 MLS Cup Final victory over the Galaxy and was named MLS Cup MVP for his efforts. He played four more years in San Jose, earning two MLS Goal of the Year honors and an MLS Best XI spot in 2005, while helping the Quakes win the 2003 MLS Cup and the 2005 Supporters’ Shield. Known for his spectacular dribbling and incredible finishes, De Rosario kept fans on the edge of their seat every time he stepped on the pitch.
