Corrales was the long-time captain for the Earthquakes and spent 12 total seasons in San Jose, finishing his career as the club leader in games played. Able to play multiple positions in both midfield and defense, Corrales was a key member of two MLS Cup-winning teams. Known for his lethal left foot, he scored a number of direct free kick goals, including two in one game against Chivas USA in 2012. When he retired, he was the last remaining player to have appeared in the inaugural 1996 MLS season. He was carried off the field on the shoulders of his teammates in his final match on Oct. 26, 2013.
