A versatile defender, Conrad saw time at right back and center back during his four seasons in San Jose. He recovered from a broken foot early in 2001 to come back and help the Quakes to the MLS Cup, earning the nod at right back in the Final against the LA Galaxy. He started 25 of 28 games for the Quakes in 2002, as San Jose led the Supporters’ Shield race most of the season. A great ambassador for the club, he won the club’s Humanitarian Award in 2002 and was twice recognized with the Geneva McAlavey award, presented annually to the team’s community leader.
