Partway through the team’s comeback 2010 season, the Quakes swung a deal for Busch, a long-time MLS veteran who had posted three seasons with 10 shutouts or more before arriving in San Jose. Busch would continue his stellar play in San Jose, leading the team to the playoffs in his first season with seven shutouts in 18 games. The iron man then played 32 games or more in the following four seasons, while posting 29 more shutouts. His 509 saves in San Jose place him second in team history.
