One of the most decorated soccer players in world history, Best spent two seasons wowing San Jose fans at Spartan Stadium in 1980 and 1981. In those two years, he scored 21 goals and assisted on another XX. His brightest moment with San Jose took place on July 22, 1981 against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers when he scored what he later called one of the best goals of his career. He dribbled past 5 Strikers players before blasting a left-footed shot into the back of the net as the television announcer yelled – “that is the greatest soccer goal I ‘ve ever seen!”
