The San Jose Earthquakes U-12 Boys’ A and B teams were both crowned champions of MVLA’s Bay Area Fall Cup the weekend of October 26-27. The two U-12 squads, led by Mark Christie, won the tournament’s top-two competitive brackets.
The Quakes A team won the tournament’s top bracket with a 4-2 win over Alpine Strikers in the final. The Quakes finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0-0 record after earning wins over AC Marin (9-0), IR Academy (3-1) and Spurs FC (9-0).
The Quakes B team managed to win the tournament’s second bracket despite fielding multiple players one year younger. The Quakes had a 2-0-0 run in the group stage, defeating Lamorinda SC 5-0 and MVLA 1-0. In the semifinals, the B team earned a 2-1 win over El Camino FC and would go on to beat Juventus Academy with a commanding 5-2 victory in the championship.
