SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Vako has been called to the Georgia National Team for a pair of friendlies later this month against Lithuania and Estonia.
Georgia takes on Lithuania on Saturday, March 24, before facing off against Estonia on Tuesday, March 27. Both matches will take place at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Vako, 25, has tallied six goals and four assists in 14 appearances since joining the team last June. He scored one goal and added two assists in the team’s Week 1 win over Minnesota United FC on March 3, becoming MLS’ lone representative on the EA Sports FIFA Team of the Week.
Vako has scored six goals in 29 prior appearances for the Georgia National Team.
