SAN JOSE, Calif. –
The San Jose Earthquakes will host their sixth annual A&W Celebrity Root Beer Float Night on Saturday, Sept. 10, starting at 5:30 p.m. PT in the 7UP Epicenter prior to the club’s match against Seattle Sounders FC scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
Fans can expect to have A&W Root Beer Floats prepared by former 49ers center Eric Heitmann and former U.S. Women’s National Team member and 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Brandi Chastain, among many others.
These local celebrities have teamed up with the Earthquakes for the charity event to scoop, pour and serve A&W Root Beer Floats for fans. With a recommended $5 donation per float, all proceeds will benefit the Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization dedicated to the development of young athletes and youth sports in the Bay Area. Each fan that makes the recommended donation will also receive an A&W souvenir cup while supplies last.
Last year as part of the fifth annual A&W Root Beer Float event, the Earthquakes raised $10,000, which benefitted the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Earthquakes Community Fund.
