Playoff Run

The Quakes have finished the regular season in sixth place in the Western Conference with a 13-14-7 record, earning the team’s first berth in the postseason since 2012. This is the Quakes ninth overall appearance in MLS postseason (12-11-1).


First Postseason Meeting

Wednesday evening marks the first playoff meeting between the Quakes and Whitecaps FC. 


North of the Border

San Jose have had strong performances against Canadian sides in recent years, with a 4-2-4 record in their last 10 games against teams from north of the border.

The Quakes have lost just once in their last eight meetings with Vancouver (3-1-4).


Never Say Die

The last time the Quakes played Vancouver this regular season, they were down 1-0 but equalized at the 77th minute (1-1). The Quakes have come from behind in seven games to secure points in the 2017 MLS regular season, including twice against Vancouver.

Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski has scored 11 goals in 18 appearances against Vancouver, which is more than half of the Quakes’ all-time goals against the Canadian side (20). He is the league’s all-time leading goal scorer against Vancouver and is six goals clear of Landon Donovan in second (5).

Quakes forward Chris Wondolowski is one of only six players with 13 plus goals and eight or more assists this regular season. He leads the team in overall assists with eight, five of which are game winning.

Chris Wondolowski’s goal against Minnesota United FC ties him with Jeff Cunningham for second most goals in Major League Soccer history (134).
