SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH CHRIS LEITCH
On the match:
“Tough game for us obviously, a very good Toronto team. Tough to play them at their place and when you give up a goal, it makes it even harder. You give up a man and it’s pretty damning.”
On if Toronto is the best opponent San Jose has faced so far:
“Yeah, easily. Really good team, their movements are extremely well thought out and they’re all on the same page. They’re comfortable in any situations all over the field.
On the game plan:
“We were trying to come out in a medium block. Frustrate them a little bit, don’t let them play through us and concede possession amongst their back three. When they did try to play through us we’d try to run them out, which to be honest with you was ok for the first part.”
On his thoughts of the red card:
“Red card from what I saw.”
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES GOALKEEPER ANDREW TARBELL
On the match:
“Tough one for us, obviously whenever you concede four goals, it’s not the best defensive performance. We’ll look to bounce back. We’ve got plenty of games left and we’re still on that line to make the playoffs.”
On whether the sun got in his eyes on the first goal:
“I’m not going to make excuses for myself. I misread it, misjudged it, my fault obviously on that first goal and we couldn’t bounce back from it.”
