The San Jose Earthquakes announced today their eighth Homegrown Player signing in 14-year-old goalkeeper Emmanuel ‘Emi’ Ochoa. He is the second Homegrown Player signing for San Jose in the span of a week after announcing last Monday the addition of 16-year-old defender Casey Walls. Ochoa is the youngest to ever sign a Homegrown Player contract in Major League Soccer history, and the second youngest signing overall (Freddy Adu – 2004). Read more here.

John Doyle to be inducted into San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Thursday
The San Jose Sports Hall of Fame will mark its 25th year of honoring South Bay sports legends when it inducts four new members on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the SAP Center at San Jose. The inductees hail from the upper echelon of collegiate, professional and/or Olympic competition. Offseason begins today with two-day trade window
Following a 10-week roster freeze, MLS clubs will have the opportunity to participate in a two-and-a-half-day trade window that opens on Nov. 11 (10 a.m. PT), the day after 2019 MLS Cup, and closes on Nov. 13 (5 p.m. PT). The expanded window this season provides MLS clubs an additional two days to complete transactions prior to a blackout period whereby clubs may no longer make roster moves in anticipation of the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft. Earthquakes Goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski Called to U.S. U-23 National Team
San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski is among 24 players called by United States U-23 National Team head coach Jason Kreis for the United International Football Festival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown defender Nick Lima and midfielder Jackson Yueill have been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team for this month’s must-win Concacaf Nations League matches against Canada on Nov. 15 in Orlando and Cuba on Nov. 19 in George Town, Cayman Islands. Local Youth Players from Monterey County Attend Chevron Soccer Academy at CSUMB
This past July, Chevron U.S.A. Inc., Open Goal Project and the San Jose Earthquakes co-hosted the Chevron Soccer Academy on the campus of Cal State Monterey Bay. The three-day event was designed to bring high-level soccer training and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning to local youth in Monterey County. Find out more here.
