Valeri ‘Vako’ Qazaishvili and Georgia are back in FIFA World Cup Qualifying action this week as they take on the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi, Georgia and Austria on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, Austria.
This will be the country’s first qualifier since June 11 when they drew 2-2 with Moldova. In the match, Vako scored, helping Georgia secure a crucial point in the group. Since the draw, Georgia has played one friendly, defeating St. Kitts and Nevis 3-0 on June 7.
Georgia is in desperate need of a win Saturday, sitting in fifth place in Group D of Europe’s World Cup Qualifying region.
