Quakes forward Marco Ureña and Costa Rica are among the stronger teams at this summer’s competition. Costa Rica have not fared too well in recent Gold Cups, and haven’t even reached the semifinals of the tournament since 2009, but the side is coming off a hot start in FIFA World Cup qualifying.
Costa Rica and Honduras have some interesting history heading into Game 1, with the Hondurans having eliminated Los Ticos in the Quarterfinals of both 2011 and 2013. There may be some bad blood come Friday.
