The San Jose Earthquakes suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sporting Kansas City over the weekend after taking the lead early in the first half off of a Chris Wondolowski header. The result pushed the Quakes down in the Power Rankings to ninth place. Read the full MLS Power Rankings here.
It is not all doom and gloom for the Quakes though. They have the opportunity to improve their standing with a midweek match against LAFC and then a weekend matchup against a struggling Vancouver Whitecaps. A result from both of these matches could make a world of difference for a Quakes side that is pushing to secure their spot in the MLS playoffs.
