SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club will collaborate with media company Footy Access for the upcoming 2024 Generation adidas Cup, set to take place in Bradenton, Florida, from March 30 to April 7. This partnership will provide behind-the-scenes coverage of the Quakes Academy Under-15 team during their journey in the tournament.
In this partnership, the Quakes will unite with Footy Access to showcase the club’s committed staff, experienced coaches, and next generation of players. This collaboration will feature exclusive moments, interviews, and highlights from San Jose’s run in the 2024 GA Cup. Through this inside look, viewers will be provided with an immersive experience into the mechanics responsible for the recent achievements of the Quakes Academy, who boast one of the most successful developmental pathways in Major League Soccer.
Generation adidas Cup is a premier international youth tournament which features representation from every MLS Academy and 49 overall clubs from a record-breaking 15 countries spanning four continents. For the 2024 version of the competition, the GA Cup will feature participation from international clubs such as Arsenal FC, Manchester United FC, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Valencia FC, Club Necaxa, and many more.
The Earthquakes’ U-15 team is coached by trailblazer Erin Ridley, the first female head coach in MLS NEXT Academy history. In last year’s GA Cup initial round, Ridley led San Jose to win their group, which consisted of the Colorado Rapids, New York City FC, and Club Bolívar of Bolivia. To start off the 2024 tournament, the Quakes’ U-15s will compete in Group D against Sporting Kansas City, Charlotte FC, and Club Necaxa.
