SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown goalkeeper Emi Ochoa has been called to the United States U19 National Team for a pair of international friendlies against England on June 6 and Norway on June 9 in Marbella, Spain.

Ochoa, 17, signed a Homegrown Player contract with San Jose ahead of the 2020 MLS season. He was 14 years and 191 days old at the time, then the second youngest player to ever sign a professional contract in MLS history. Ochoa has yet to feature for the Quakes’ first team, but has made five appearances, including two shutouts, for Earthquakes II in MLS NEXT Pro. He also played for the Quakes Academy U17s at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup.

Ochoa has previously represented the United States (U14, U15, U19) and Mexico (U16, U18). The Salinas, Calif. native was most recently called up to the U.S. U19s for a training camp at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. last month.
