The San Jose Earthquakes and Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER) today announced a multi-year partnership that will see Uber become the Official Ride Share partner and Official Mobile Ordering and Delivery partner of the Quakes.
“We are very excited to welcome Uber to our roster of global technology partners,” said Earthquakes Vice President of Strategy Ian Anderson. “With integration of Uber Eats mobile ordering at concession locations at PayPal Park, we hope to provide our fans an enhanced gameday food and beverage experience.”
Central to the partnership, fans at PayPal Park will now be able to order ahead on their mobile devices through the Uber Eats app and collect their food and beverages at a designated pickup window. Mobile ordering will service three concession stands: stand 2 near the main gate, stand 7 near the Audi Gate, and stand 9 near the supporters’ gate, beginning Saturday, April 23. In-seat delivery is not currently being offered. Additionally, Aviation Ave. located one block north of the stadium will serve as the designated pickup and drop-off location for fans utilizing Uber’s rideshare service.
"We know Californians rely on Uber to get to sporting events, concerts and other big events, but we're so much more than just a ride,” said Sarah Khan, Head of West Territory Operations at Uber. “Now with Uber Eats in-stadium ordering, fans can skip the line, grab their favorites, and never miss a play."
Uber Eats will serve as the Title Night sponsor for the Quakes’ match on May 18 vs. the Portland Timbers and will distribute koozies to 5,000 fans.
