SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes have been named among the top 10 trending MLS teams in 2017 by Google. The Quakes saw one of the biggest year-over-year increases in Google searches to earn their place in Google’s 17th annual Year in Search.
Google’s 2017 Year in Search showcases the people, topics, events and places that captured the world’s attention, utilizing an aggregation of trillions of search queries from the year to generate lists that identify what people were curious about in 2017 relative to 2016.
In 2017, the Quakes secured a place in the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2012 and welcomed several new faces to the organization, including former Premier League executive Tom Fox as President and former Roma executive Jesse Fioranelli as general manager. The club also added a host of international signings to the roster and made two changes at head coach during the calendar year.
