SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes take on the rival LA Galaxy at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. on Sunday, Aug. 27 and fans are invited to attend the match and support their club on the road. The nationally televised contest is the third and final meeting between the two sides during the 2017 MLS regular season and the only one held in southern California.
“We want to make our presence felt in LA,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “Seeing many Earthquakes fans and familiar faces in the crowd will be a big boost for the guys in search of three points over our rivals.”
Fans interested in attending the match should fill out the form hereand an Earthquakes representative will contact them with more details and assist with the purchase. For $40, fans will receive a lower bowl ticket in a dedicated Earthquakes section and an Earthquakes’ California-themed scarf. The San Jose Ultras are traveling independently from this offer and fans wishing to travel and/or stand with the supporter group should email membership@1906ultras.com. The two sections will be located adjacent to one another.
The two historic clubs have met twice in MLS play already this season, with the Galaxy prevailing in a six-goal thriller on May 27 and the Quakes scoring a 93rd-minute game-winner in front of more than 50,000 fans at Stanford Stadium on July 1. The Earthquakes also defeated the Galaxy 3-2 in the Quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on July 10 and 1-0 during a preseason showdown in Las Vegas back in February.
