SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes Girls’ Academy defender Andrea Kitahata has been called up to the U.S. Under-15 Girls’ National Team at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from Jan. 27-Feb. 3. The U.S. Under-16 and Under-15 Girls’ National Teams will hold concurrent training camps to kick off 2018 programing for both teams.
Kitahata most recently joined the U-15 squad for international friendlies against Germany in November, entering the 3-2 victory on Nov. 1 as a substitute in the 41st minute, and starting and playing 41 minutes in the 6-1 win on Nov. 3.
In December 2017, Kitahata was ranked No. 1 in the Northern California/Hawaii region for the Class of 2021 by TopDrawerSoccer.
This age group of players is in the second year of a two-year cycle as U-15s before transitioning to U-17s in 2019 when they will form the core of the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
