SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski has been named Major League Soccer’s Player of the Month for May after scoring six goals, including two game-winning goals, in just 203 minutes. It marked his seventh MLS Player of the Month selection, most by any player in league history.

Wondolowski scored a career-high four goals against the Chicago Fire on May 18, his first start of the month, to break Landon Donovan’s all-time MLS scoring record. He then tallied a brace the following match against Toronto FC, giving him multiple goals in back-to-back matches for the first time in his career.
