SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has acquired $50,000 of 2022 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Real Salt Lake in exchange for the Homegrown Priority to midfielder Diego Luna. San Jose will receive additional allocation money if certain performance metrics are met. The Quakes also retain a sell-on percentage in the event of a future transfer to a team outside of Major League Soccer.
Luna, 18, was born in Sunnyvale, Calif. and competed for the Quakes Academy between 2015-18. He has played for USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive FC since 2021.
