SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Earthquakes forward Cade Cowell was named to the roster for the United States Men’s National Team for their two matches in September against Uzbekistan and Oman. Cowell will report to St. Louis for training camp on Sept. 3.
The U.S. first faces Uzbekistan on Sept. 9 in St. Louis, with kickoff at CITYPARK set for 5:30 p.m. ET (TNT, Telemundo, Universo and Peacock). Three days later on Sept. 12, the USA takes on Oman at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minn. at 8:30 p.m. ET (TNT, Universo and Peacock). Live Spanish-language audio for both matches will be available on Fútbol de Primera radio platforms.
Cowell most recently played for the U.S. in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, appearing in five matches and scoring his first career national team goal as the team advanced to the semifinals of the tournament. In the group stage, Cowell came off the bench in two matches and started one. He scored against Trinidad and Tobago in a 6-0 win in the final group stage game. After coming off the bench in the quarterfinals against Canada, he scored a penalty kick in the shootout to help the U.S. advance to the semifinals. Prior to the Gold Cup, Cowell had made three previous appearances in friendlies, including a Man of the Match performance against Serbia on Jan. 26, 2023.
Earlier this year, he played with the U.S. U-20 national team in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring three goals and helping the U.S. reach the quarterfinals. His three goals led the U.S. in scoring for the tournament.
