Kickoff
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Avaya Stadium. The match marks the second international friendly for the Earthquakes this season.
We Meet Again
Saturday’s match marks the third time the two clubs will play, previously meeting in 2002 in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. San Jose fell 3-0 on April 17, 2002 at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca before rebounding with a 1-0 victory at Spartan Stadium one week later. Who will win the rubber match between the two clubs?
A New Lineup?
With several Earthquakes players reporting for international duty this week, the club’s starting XI is likely to see some shakeups against Pachuca. Chris Wondolowski, Cordell Cato, Simon Dawkins and Shaun Francis are all unlikely to be available for the match, giving other players an opportunity to get some substantial playing time.
Keep the Streak Alive
San Jose is currently riding an 11-game unbeaten streak (7-0-4) against international opponents, including a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad earlier this year. They have not lost in a friendly since falling 3-1 to the Canadian National Team at Spartan Stadium on June 5, 2004.
