Kickoff
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Avaya Stadium. The match marks the second meeting between FC Dallas and the Earthquakes this season and first in San Jose.
Broadcast Information
The game will be aired live on CSNCA, 1590 KLIV (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).
Quincy’s Imposing Presence
Quincy Amarikwa’s physical play has boded well against the FC Dallas defense recently, with the Earthquakes forward recording one goal and two assists in his last two appearances against the team. Head coach Dominic Kinnear alluded to the fact that Amarikwa could be available after missing several games with a hamstring injury.
Shutting Them Down
The Earthquakes have recorded 16 shutouts against FC Dallas, the most against the club in MLS history. San Jose has already kept three clean sheets at home so far this season, which is tied for second in the league.
A Chance to Step Up
Due to several players leaving to represent their countries in Copa America Centenario, the Earthquakes starting XI will likely see a big shakeup for Saturday’s match. Regular starters Chris Wondolowski (USA), Simon Dawkins (Jamaica), Alberto Quintero (Panama) and Anibal Godoy (Panama) will all be unavailable, opening the door for other players to make an impact in the lineup.
Cato Returning to Starting XI?
With three midfielders leaving for international duty, it’s possible Cordell Cato could earn his first start of the season after returning from a hamstring strain against LA Galaxy last week. Cato hasn’t started a match since October 16, 2015.
