Kickoff
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at BBVA Compass Stadium. The match marks the Earthquakes’ second of three matchups against Houston and only road contest against the club.
Broadcast Information
The game will be aired live on CSN California, 1590 KLIV (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).
Sarkodie's Return
Sunday’s match marks the first time Quakes defender Kofi Sarkodie will return to Houston after being traded from the club in April. Originally added as defensive depth, Sarkodie has proven to be a valuable addition, starting 10 matches for San Jose before missing their last two games with an injury.
Wondolowski Chasing History
Houston is the only active team that Earthquakes captain Chris Wondolowski hasn’t scored against in his career. If he finds the net against the Dynamo on Sunday, he would join Kei Kamara as the only two players in MLS history to score against 21 different teams, including all 20 in the league today, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
Get on the Right Road
The Earthquakes are still searching for their first road win of the season, where they are currently 0-5-5. The club captured a win against Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium last season, beating the home side 1-0 on May 5, 2015.
Building on Previous Performance
In their first matchup against the Houston Dynamo in May, San Jose scored a season-high three goals as Panamaniacs Alberto Quintero (brace) and Anibal Godoy joined forces to help secure a big home win. The victory came without several regular starters including forward Quincy Amarikwa.
