Another international match, another memorable performance from an Earthquakes player.
On Tuesday night, defender Shaun Francis tallied a stoppage-time goal in Jamaica’s 4-2 win over Guyana in Caribbean Cup action. The goal helped secure an impressive comeback win for the Reggae Boyz after trailing Guyana 2-0 earlier in the match.
Francis, 29, has now scored two goals in seven prior appearances for Jamaica since his international debut in 2010. Over his seven-year MLS career, Francis has tallied five assists in 90 games played, making 17 starts for San Jose so far this season.
Jamaica will host Suriname for its final third-round match of the Caribbean Cup, a competition that was postponed on October 5 due to Hurricane Matthew. The winner will advance to the tournament’s semi-final round.
