When the San Jose Earthquakes opened the George Best Gate on the South End of Buck Shaw Stadium last March, the iconic play remembered around the Bay Area as "The Greatest Soccer Goal Ever" came to life in a 5-minute video that shows on a high-definition television on loop just inside the entrance.
The goal is legendary amongst soccer fans of NASL ilk. Best dribbled through a horde of Fort Lauderdale Strikers players, nimbly slicing and dicing his way to the 6-yard box before directing a shot to the far corner.
If you remember George Best's goal, feel free to relive the experience and leave a comment. Honor our past. Be our future.
