Kickoff:
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Children’s Mercy Park. This is the Quakes’ first match on the road this season and the first of two encounters against Sporting Kansas City.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
In Search of Win #3
The Quakes are looking to win their first three games of the season for the first time in franchise history. The club’s 3-2 comeback win over Vancouver last week was only the second time ever that Quakes have won their opening two games of the regular season. The first time was in 2016.
Road Record In Sight
If Quakes captain Chris Wondolowski scores against Sporting KC, he will equal Landon Donovan’s record for most goals scored on the road in MLS history (63). Donovan scored his 63rd road goal against Sporting Kansas City on Sept. 18, 2016.
The Early Goal Gets the Win
Since 2002, the Quakes have never lost a game against Sporting KC after scoring first. July 27, 2002 was the last time the Quakes lost after getting on the scoreboard first.
Double-Edged Sword
Sporting KC is one of three teams this season that have not scored a single goal in their opening two games. While that may be a salivating prospect heading into this matchup, Sporting KC has yet to concede a goal thus far, either.
Rookie on the Rise
Defender Nick Lima has experienced an incredible start to his debut MLS season. A week after shutting down Ignacio Piatti and earning MLS Team of the Week honors, the former Cal player scored the equalizer in the Quakes’ 3-2 comeback win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The goal was also the first scored by a Homegrown player in the club’s history.
