It was recently announced that 153 players from U-16 to U-20 were called to various U.S. Youth National Teams for a summit in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Quakes First Team defender Jacob Akanyirige and four members of the team’s academy were among the 153 called and will be attending from Jan. 2-11.
News released by U.S. Soccer yesterday shows that the various national teams will be competing against one another, which are all open to media and the public. San Jose has players on the U-19 (JJ Foe-Nuphaus), U-18 (Akanyirige), U-17 (Gilbert Fuentes) and U-16 (Casey Walls and Diego Luna).
