The San Jose Earthquakes U-18 Academy member Ivan Valencia has been a fan of soccer since his childhood, playing in his native Guadalajara, Mexico. After impressing the Earthquakes Academy coaches at a tournament in Portland, Valencia joined the squad, a decision that has lead to many opportunities for the aspiring soccer star both on the pitch and academically.
