Former academy members JJ Foe Nuphaus had himself quite a week, scoring a wonder goal for University of California against longtime rival Stanford.
Foe Nuphaus, a freshman at Cal, scored the lone goal in the Golden Bear’s 1-0 victory over Stanford on Thursday night. On a corner kick in the 85th minute, Foe Nuphaus made a darting run through the box and smashed the ball into the back of the net with a diving header. His first goal for the Golden Bears couldn’t have come at a better time, as it helped Cal earn their first win against the Cardinal since 2013.
