The San Jose Earthquakes Girls’ Academy had a few standout performances during their slate of matches last weekend.
Midfielder Jadynn Shinn was selected by TopDrawerSoccer as the U-17 Player of the Week across the whole Development Academy. She scored two goals in the waning moments of the match to lead the Earthquakes to a 4-3 win over So Cal Blues on Saturday.
Shinn, a Notre Dame commit, has previously earned call-ups to the U.S. U-17 WNT.
A few other Earthquakes Girls’ Academy players also earned special recognition by TDS for their recent performances. Forward Mia Fontana scored two goals on Saturday and another on Sunday and U.S. U-15 selection Andrea Kitahata scored two goals on Sunday. Both players compete for the Quakes’ U-17s.
Additionally, America Andrea Frias scored a hat-trick for the U-14s on Sunday. She has a team-leading nine goals this season.
