What better way to kick off this week’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying action than with three Quakes players battling to advance in Group B!
Jamaican internationals Shaun Francis and Simon Dawkins will lead the Reggae Boyz against San Jose teammate Alberto Quintero and Panama Friday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. PT at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.
The two countries last faced off back on Nov. 13, 2015 when Panama defeated Jamaica 2-0 in last year’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying fixture. Quintero tallied for Los Canaleros in the 52nd minute, while Dawkins was featured in the Reggae Boyz’ 18.
Francis, Dawkins and Jamaica will likely need a win Friday if they hope to advance into Round 5, as they currently sit in third place in Group B. If Quintero and Los Canelros win Friday night, they’re on to the next round. Panama currently occupies second place in the group.
