Yahoo Sports highlighted the San Jose Earthquakes as they traveled down to Carson, CA on Friday evening a came away with a dominant 3-1 win against bitter rivals, LA Galaxy. The Galaxy were the first to get on the scoresheet when Rolf Feltscher scored in the 2nd minute of the game off a corner kick. Momentum quickly shifted from the Galaxy over to the Quakes around the 20th minute. The Quakes were relentless in the attacking third getting in shot-after-shot on LA's goal. Although, the first half ended with the LA Galaxy maintaining a 1-0 lead.
The second half started the same way the first half ended, with the Quakes on the front foot. Vako scored the equalizer in the 61st minute and then tallied the assist that would put the Quakes ahead a few minutes later, thanks to Danny Hoesen. Jackson Yueill finished off the Galaxy with a nice volley that secured all three points for the Quakes. The 3-1 win gave the Earthquakes their first series sweep of the Galaxy in 18 years.
