San Jose Earthquakes Girls’ Academy midfielder Sophie Jones was rated as the nation’s 20th best player for the class of 2019 by TopDrawerSoccer.
Among all players in the class of 2019, the native of Menlo Park, Calif. is also rated as the second-best player in California, third-best in the Northern California and Hawaii region and eighth-best midfielder in the nation.
She has earned international call-ups, most recently in late October, where she helped the U.S. U-17s defeat the older U-18s 2-1 in a scrimmage.
Jones, who was born in 2001 and competes for the Quakes’ U-17s, is tabbed as a four-star recruit and has already committed to play collegiately at Duke University.
